Boarding Info

Boarding at Wooftown Doggy Daycare is all-inclusive.

This means your dog will be in daycare all day at no extra charge to you!

However, your dog(s) must be picked up by 12pm on the departing day or you will incur a daycare charge

My dog  wouldn't do well in a room overnight, is their another option??

You may bring a crate from home if your dog wont do well in a room.

What do I need to bring for my dog during his/her overnight stay?

Please bring your dog with a snap collar with name identification tag (Please do not bring Leather/expensive collars, as they can get chewed on) a favorite bed or blanket (if they have one), food, snacks and medication if applicable.  You may also bring their favorite toy to be kept in their private suite for their enjoyment. We will provide feeding dishes, a built in bed and bedtime snack. We are not responsible for lost or damaged items.

What if I forget my dogs food or they run out before I return, can I pay extra to have you feed them?

Absolutely, we keep a house dog food on hand, and will be happy to feed your dog for only an additional $1.00 (One Dollar) per meal. However, it is better for your dog's digestive system to continue eating what their system is used to, in some dogs food changes can cause diarrhea and/or vomiting.

What do I need for my dog to board or attend daycare at Wooftown?

Our boarding and daycare requirements are as follows:

  • Your dog must be dog friendly and well socialized
  • Must be in good health (no fleas, ticks or contagious illness)
  • Be spayed or neutered (over 6 months old)
  • Have required vaccinations (kennel cough, rabies and distemper)
  • Be over 4 months age.

Why does my dog seem sluggish and sleepy after daycare or boarding?

If you dog is not used to a lot of activity or exercise he or she may be tired and have sore joints and muscles, just like a person who overdoes a workout after a long period of inactivity. Exercise is one of the benefits of doggie daycare, so you will notice the soreness is only temporary. Watch for soreness on the toe pads, dogs that are used to only carpet and grass may need to develop a toughening of the toe pads when new to playing on gravel.

I have 2 dogs, do I get a discount?

Yes! There is a 15% discount on the second dog if they share a room together

What is Kennel Cough?

Kennel cough is a fairly common ailment in dogs. People tend to associate it with dogs who have recently been boarded (or "kenneled"). However, your dog could contract kennel cough anywhere they come into contact with other dogs; such as, the Groomer, the veterinarian's office, in dog obedience class, at a dog show or any other dog related event. Any time your dog is in the vicinity of an infected dog, the potential exists for infection. Kennel cough is caused by an airborne virus, which is highly contagious. The incubation period is about 7-10 days, meaning your dog will not display symptoms of illness for about 7-10 days following exposure to the virus.

How do I prevent my dog from getting kennel cough?

Vaccinating your dog with the Bordetella vaccine can help reduce their risk. However, be aware that your dog can still contract the Kennel Cough virus even if he or she has been vaccinated. Also, after being vaccinated please wait 7 days before sending your dog to daycare in order for the vaccine to take full affect.

There are many strains and mutations of the virus, making it a hit or miss whether the vaccine used on your dog will be the right one for the strain with which your dog comes in contact with. This is similar to the "flu shot" for people; each year a vaccine is developed based on which strain(s) are suspected to be most prevalent. Simply put, having the flu shot does not guarantee you won't get the flu and when your dog has a Bordetella vaccination it doesn't guaranteed he or she won't get kennel cough. A strong immune system is best defense against viruses. This is why several dogs could be exposed to the kennel cough virus but only one may actually contract it. It may be beneficial to provide your dog with immune boosting supplements on a regular basis.Check with your local pet store or veterinarian on supplements that will aid in boosting your dogs immune system.

What are your drop off and pick-up times?

Boarding dogs may be dropped off anytime before 7:00 p.m, and picked up by 12:00 p.m. on their pick-up day. Pick ups after 12pm will be charged an additional day. Sunday Pickup hours are from 10:00am-12:00pm

What will my dog's schedule be like?

8:00 a.m. : Breakfast

9:00 a.m. : Play time

Is it okay to call and check on my dog while I'm away?

Of course, feel free to call anytime. We also have webcams, where you can watch you dog play while you are away!

What happens if there is a dog fight at daycare??

While we do everything we can to invite only friendly, well-socialized, and well-behaved dogs to Doggy Day Care. Please remember that dogs use their teeth and paws when they play and wrestle; therefore minor scratches or scrapes are considered normal. On occasion normal play between dogs can quickly escalate towards aggression. We use squirt bottles of water or noisemakers to prevent any escalated play from becoming aggressive. If however your dog is injured while playing at Doggy Day Care, we will notify you immediately and transport your pet to the nearest veterinarian if needed. If your dog directly injures another dog while at Doggy Day Care that requires medical attention, you will be held responsible for the injured dogs vet bill and depending on the circumstances your dog may not be allowed back at Doggy Day Care until a trainer has evaluated him/her.
